The Library of Arabic Literature is at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which runs from April 30 to May 5 this year at the Abu Dhabi National Exposition Center. We’re at booth # 11D44, so if you are in Abu Dhabi, come drop by!

On Saturday, May 3, there will be a public session dedicated to the Library of Arabic Literature, presented by LAL General Editor Philip Kennedy and Executive Editors James Montgomery and Shawkat M. Toorawa. The editors will be showcasing the recently published and upcoming books in the series. The panel will be held from 19:00 to 20:00 at The Tent area at the Fair.

Additionally, this year, the Fair is celebrating the work and legacy of the Abbasid poet al-Mutanabbi with a number of special panels and presentations. Among them is a presentation by Executive Editor Shawkat M. Toorawa, “Mending Mutanabbi: An 18th-Century Indian Contribution to Classical Arabic Literature,” on the Indian scholar Azad Bilgrami and his commentary on Mutanabbi, entitled Shifa’ al-‘Alil (A Cure for What Ails.) The presentation is on Friday, May 2, 18:30-19:30, at the Majlis al-Mutanabbi.

See you there!
